TREASURERS REPORT: Lori Healy presented the treasurer’s report.
- Still a few families that have not paid for their monthly Troop Support.  Lori will get to Kent to determine how to proceed.
- Almost all of Summer Camp has been collected.  There are a couple of people that still owe $5.00 and Lori will get with them.
- There is a little confusion when registering new boys and keeping track of the new registration fees. It was suggested that as a way to improve the process we include a registration form in the Welcoming Committee handbook that is currently being built.
- Lori pointed out that we have a $2,000 income budget forecasted and have not yet obtained any income from woodcutting.  Shawn indicated that there are some cords of wood available and there should be something in the near future.  If anyone knows of any available wood, please contact Doug Wollen.
- Lori received a couple of inputs regarding the Troop Membership Expense policy.  She has incorporated the suggestions.  There was some discussion and clarification regarding reimbursement for woodcutting.  Lori will verify with Kent what the troop policy is and incorporate it into the policy and send out the updated policy one more time for final review.  We will vote on final approval at the next parent’s meeting.
- Randy Miller motioned to accept the monthly treasurer’s report.  Kelley Daniels seconded and the report was unanimously approved.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Summer Camp – All reports were that summer camp was exceptional.  Once again the boys were busy and a 176 merit badges were earned.
Uniforms-.Randy is going to do an inventory. .
Woodcutting – Doug Wollen reported that we have about 9 cords of wood and a potential of another 2-3 cords.  There is still available wood at camp if we want to drive up and get it.  We will plan another woodcutting day at camp in the fall.  We will also need to schedule time to cut and split the wood we already have.   Doug will look at the calendar and try to get a date reserved.  If anyone has any sources of wood available locally, please contact Doug.
Friends of Scouting – We met our goal for this year’s campaign thanks to our new District Executive, Jason McPherson.  Jason called past donors for our troop and obtained enough contributions to reach our troop’s goal. Debbie Dubay will call Jason and check on obtaining our awards.
Youth Protection – The boys are scheduled to view the Youth Protection video in September.  Parents are encouraged to view the video one week in advance.  We will ask the boys to address the schedule at the next TLC.
Welcoming Committee – There is a handbook being assembled that will be provided to new parents.  Dick Moloney and Dahni Logar are heading the project up.  In addition to the registration form that was discussed earlier it was suggested that we also include the web permission form and any other forms that might be required.  Shawn is going to volunteer to get the welcoming video transferred to DVD format.
Roundtable Report – Art Pinkers is part of the team working to update and revise the district’s website.
Adult Leader Training – Art Pinkers has placed an adult training survey form in the folder of each registered adult in the troop.  Please complete the form and place it in Art Pinkers folder so he can summarize the results.
SCOUTMASTERS REPORT:
Kent addressed the following topics:
-We need a new stock of neckerchiefs.  Kent is suggesting that we purchase the silk screens so that we can print our own.  Susan Moloney will look into researching how we might purchase the silk screens and also compare the price of having it done.  At the last meeting we approved a budget of $125.00 for this expenditure. We will also need someone to surge the edges of the neckerchiefs once they are silk screened.
- We are looking for a volunteer to look into planning the Super Outing for 2004.  We like to plan activities that families wouldn’t normally do and an activity that builds character, promotes fitness, and establishes citizenship.
OTHER BUSINESS:
- We are looking for a volunteer to take over the Homeless Dinner troop volunteer events.  Katie Hanzelli has done the event for years and we are looking for a new volunteer to take over coordinating the activity.
- Susan Moloney asked if the troop would be interested in designing a troop T-Shirt.  Everyone thought it was a good idea.
NEXT MEETING: The next Parent’s Meeting will be held on August 12’th.
ADJOURNMENT:
Meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
