The meeting was called to order at 7:39 by co-chair Shawn Sather.
ATTENDANCE: Doug Wollen, Dave Hutchinson (Hutch), Tracie Watson, Dahne Logar, Chris Powers, Randy Miller, Kelly Daniels, Holly Powers, Kathy Morey, Carl Prichard, Greg Gannon, Lori Healy, Kent Brooten, Art Anderson, Art Pinkers, Ken Wright, Debbie Dubay
MINUTES: Arthur Pinkers moved to accept the January minutes as amended. Randy Miller seconded. The minutes were unanimously accepted. (Note: there was no committee meeting in February as a result of the Court of Honor)
TREASURERS REPORT: Lori Healy presented the treasurer’s report. We are
starting to receive deposits for Summer Camp. Have received about 2/3 of
our Troop Support. There was a discussion on whether we should pro-rate
Troop Support for new families. Greg Cannon presented a motion to pro-rate
Troop Support, Doug Wollen seconded and the motion was unanimously
approved. Randy Miller motioned to accept the Treasurer’s report as
presented, Carl Prichard seconded and the report was unanimously accepted.
AI – Lori to draft a policy or process on how we will pro-rate the troop
support
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Friends of Scouting – 44% of our families have
contributed and we still have over $2500 needed to meet our designated troop
goal.
Scouting for Food – Meet at Kent’s at 8:30 Saturday, March 15th.
(Note: If planning on participating in the Dutch Oven Cookoff and Campout at
Camp KOBY (Kent’s Own Barn Yard) bring your gear.) We will depart Kent’s for our
designated area to drop off bags. On Saturday, March 23’rd we will again
meet at Kent’s at 8:30. (Note: If planning on attending the Ft.Worden activity
after Scouting for Food pickup, bring your gear). Again, we will depart
from Kent’s to go collect the Food bags.
Welcome Committee – Discussion on
rules for registration for new boys joining from Cub Scouts. Kent
clarified, when joining the troop there is a one time registration and transfer
feel of $10.00. Yearly registrations after that are covered by the troop.
Advancement- No report
Roundtable – Arthur Pinkers is attending
monthly. April meeting will focus on a Youth Protection session.
Uniforms-. No report
Woodcutting – Still looking for some available wood
so we can do our Spring woodcutting.
Mom & Me Coordinator – First
weekend in May. Older boys need to sign up to help.
Troop Website – We
have received our Domain name back.. If you are having trouble accessing
the calendar, enable your JAVA script.
SPL/TLC – Ken Wright reported
everything is going well. The boys had fallen slightly behind in planning
but are now caught up and have three months planned in advance.
Outings –
Hutch announced the dates for upcoming outings and the patrols that are
responsible for doing the planning. Hutch is also going to try to
institute an Honor Patrol program based on scout’s participants in outings and
troop meetings.
Adult Leadership Training – Art Pinkers – April 28’th –29’th
for Basic Leadership Training at the Lyons Camp. Note: Art will also be
receiving his Woodbadge beading at the campfire that night. All are
invited to attend.
SCOUTMASTERS REPORT:
-Great igloo outing at Paradise – Plenty of snow
-23’rd Scouting for Food – Leave for Ft.Worden after
-Group planning on
going to Crater Lake for cross-country ski outing during Spring Break.
Several preparation outings are in work.
- Woodbadge being held in
May. Participants attend the 1’st weekend in May, and then again the
weekend of the 25-26’th. There is another course held in August, but it is
a week long course. As a reminder, the troop pays for half of the fee for
all adults that attend the Woodbadge outing. Kent encourages adults
helping with the troop to participate in the Woodbadge activity.
NEW BUSINESS: Kent has found some Software that will allow sharing of
pictures, files, etc on his computer. (Must have a DSL connection). He is
going to purchase the software and see how it works with the idea of putting all
the pictures in a file on his computer for everyone to access.
NEXT MEETING: The next Parent’s Committee Meeting will be held April 8, 2003
